Single visual composition is commonly used in email design or print design.

A single visual image is used as the primary focus in the piece.  This creates attention to the one primary element on the page, and the secondary and tertiary elements ‘blend’.  This type of composition is fairly common and easily achieved.  Using a single focal point takes all of the guessing out of your design.  The ultimate motto for this type of composition would be the common phrase, ‘less is more’.  Using a single visual composition is usually complemented with text.  To achieve this successfully, you want to make sure that your typography does not become over bearing.  The image should speak for itself and the typography should become secondary or even tertiary.
