The creation moveable type by Pi Sheng became the future gateway for printing.

​ “Printing elements [hieroglyphs] of baked clay were fixed in iron typesetting forms by means of a resinous mixture that hardened upon cooling” (“Pi Sheng”).  Chinese text is primarily formed by images.  This type of technology was compeletely innovative for its time.
